Happy Birthday D I hope you have a Wonderful Day

I am a geek, I have been playing D&D since I was 10. I have played every edition starting with the red box going all the way to 4E. I have also played to many RPGs for me to list. D&D has been something that has made me friends that I still have now. So it has had an impact on my life.

Now to my point, Gary Gygax died I felt sad because I never got to thank him for creating a game that gave me so many years of fun. Now Dave Arneson passed and I am having those same feelings.

It is just what is on my mind and well, I am going to go roll some dice in their collective memories.

The best tribute for them is that the game they created is still going on to this day and will hopefully continue long past my time.

So I was sitting in downtown Boston today I think I might have found the only shady cool spot outside waiting for a Client to comeback from lunch to let me in the building. So I take this opportunity to Read my 4E PHB. After a little bit I notice movement from the building I need to go in so I start closing my book and some woman stops and asks me if I "worship the devil" I look at her confused. The she calls me a Satan Worshiper and goes on her way. Now I was completely dumbstruck I have not had an incident with my gaming book being read in public at all. The worst was when I went to buy AD&D from a Toys R Us and a clerk called me and a friend a Devil Worshiping little punks and kicked us out of the store(I was 13 at the time I am almost 36).

So I have to Ask WTF??? Has any gamer ever had an incident like this and when?

So I might be running a Rifts Game that will be maybe a 2 to 3 session run, I am working on an Atlantis Revolt as the general story. All of the players are slaves of a particular Dealer that only deals in Psychics. He is a Null Psyborg, who is building up an army of Psychics to attack the Splurgoth on the Day of a huge Gladitorial event. The players are all former slaves of his or in his current slave stock.

I am glad to being running this again it should be fun the problem is the large group we have 8 players plus a GM. So it is going to be pretty big I am right now looking at quicking up the combat system so it doesn't take so long. But we shall have to see.

I was force to leave my home and sent to Wormwood while the rest of my group stayed here, in a Coalition run world always on the brink of Civil war, Magic verse Technology with everyone caught in the middle.

I am the Stargazer the last of the Saviors a group of 4 whose names are escaping me We had our young juicer, the idealistic Cyber Knight and my Friend the Crazy. We traveled thru what has become the New West and Lone Star Fighting the Coalition forces and freeing any D-bees that we found on the way.

I now after being tainted in Wormwood must reconnect myself with home and hear what the lines have to say. I must continue the fight and find more to join the cause. . .

I am currently Reading Scion: Hero the new Game Series from White Wolf where you play the mortal child of a God trying to stop Evil from taking over, the series has a mixed feel of American Gods and the Kevin Matchstick Mages Series by Matt Wagner. One of the thing I really like so far about this game is it is very open ended so the small amount you have on the gods can be expanded on as well as the bad guys and the adventures you run. There is a minor meta plot but you don't have to deal with it. The game is also very adaptable I have been thinking of doing a Fables game using the Rules because it works so well. An Update on Scion I am Almost up to the Adventure that is included in the Book and I hopefully will be done in the week.

Allright everyone this week I am taking a break from the music(kinda) and we are going with some thing from my youth. This weeks videos has to do with the Cartoons I watched when I got home from School rather than go out and play. So here we go. . .

I am going to start off with the one I had to really Rush home for the Galaxy Rangers a show where these 4 law officers get special powers or their natural powers are enhanced from these badge's and they fight aliens. Now I rented these recently and watched them, Not good at all. But here are the Opening Credits.



Now the coolest Character Shane Gooseman a former supersolider turned lawman he has other powers beside what the badge gives him.

Allright Now One of the coolest show ever M.A.S.K. it had talking cars with weapons and helmuts that gave super powers. The toys where awesome also Karl and I had a lot of them and I wish I had them to show Matt.



Here was a cool part of the Show they assemble the team like Mission Impossible choosing the right character for the Missions and here is one of those scenes.



Allright Next I am going to go with Transformers I don't think I need to say anything else.

So as everyone pretty much knows I am a RPG Geek, well on the Dresden File RPG page they posted this picture and said to write something about it. So I did and posted it on the sight. The story follows the picture as well as a link to the RPG site. Enjoy



I heard Harry Dresden was making a living as a private detective I knew I could, I am David Boyd, Wizard and new to the Detective game. I am on my first assignment people from local shelters are missing. usually that isn't a problem the problem is that some of their body parts are showing up in alley's all over Baltimore. I have been on this case for a few days now and everything has been easy I have a lead and I am heading there now.

When David turns into the dark alley there was a small circle of street people crowded around a metal trash can, there is a fire coming out of it and the smell of a bitter sweet meat. They ignore him, David decides to step closer and introduce himself. As he get 5 feet from the circle he sees a human hand on a stick over the flame.

The oldest looking of the men looks up smiles a grin with long sharp buck teeth, he says to his group "Look boys we have some more meat for the fire" punctuating this by waving the stick that had the hand on it. Then says "Get Him". Not Thinking David Concentrates on the trash can and yells "Feugo" and the fire shoots up in the air distracting his would be attackers enough for him to escape.

David Ran for a block or so when he heard the Fire engines start to come close, he stopped looking over at where he had cast his spell and the smoke billowed from the apartments that where next to the alley. "$#!T" He turned and ran back towards the fire. He had to help. Then he thought Dresden never seems to have these problems.

So over the past few years I have been trying to reconnect with certain friends and have had little luck. One I haven't seen in almost 10 years found this Journal and we met for Lunch and the ball was left in my court I have yet to call him back. I have Couple Friends I see about twice a year both I have known since freshman year in high school. I also have a girl I went to college with whom I talk to on the phone once a month and we keep saying we are going to get together but do not we are both to busy. There have been many friend that I have had then lost some my fault and some their's others have been because they would not listen to my side of a situation and Now I have a chance to regroup with people I have not seen since Matt was One I have meet one of the group by chance at a local hobby shop and I think the first week of June I am going to see them.

Now here is the question do I miss those people I don't talk to or used to hang out with and never got back in touch with or even those that I have made the intial contact with to get back in their lives and they never respond back. YES it hurts like how does it hurt i am not sure I can explain but it does, Especially when it is Family.

How do you get over the fact that your Brothers, their wives and your parents don't want to deal with you and only want to deal with your kids. This is another Rant which might happen soon.

I don't know how to deal with any of this so I am writing this. There are people who are going to be reading this that I thought were friends, I don't want pity contact this is just a rant that has been on my mind for a long time and you know something I can tell you one big thing IT SUCKS.

I just needed to get this off my chest.

So Somehow I hadn't updated alot of the books I read so here is the complete list as well as what else I have been reading.


1) Grave Peril - Jim Butcher (3rd book in the Dresden Series - Good book I thought it was a bit Slow in coming to a head but worked out in the End)

2) Born To Run (Shadowrun part 1 of 3) - Stephen Kenson (a good start to the series following a up and coming Runner from a small town trying to make it in the Big League, the Second Book Poison Agenda I got more than halfway through and stopped because I just couldn't finish)

3) WOD: Skinchangers - Various Authors (g) (This is one of the first supplements for the NWOD that deals with different shapechangers from different Cultures and those that are completely Different from Werewolves, I enjoyed this)

4) Strange Alchemies - Various Authors (g) (The Second of the Supplements for Promethean Series dealing with the original archetype from the core book and some expansions dealing more with the Classic power of the Promethean)

5) Magnum Opus - Various Authors (g) ( the 3rd Supplement of the Promethean Series, this book deals with the points on the quest of the Promethean to become Human as well as New Powers for the Modern Day)

6) Saturnine Nights - Various Authors (g) (This is the 4th and final supplement from Promethean, This deals with the more scary Futuristic Prometheans Clones and The Nucleur Promethean, as well as the rules for creating new lines of Promethean's and the Human's that stumble onto the secret of Life)

7) Summer Knights - Jim Butcher (the 4th book in the Dresden Series I really Liked it dealt with and upcoming war between the Winter and Summer courts of the Faires)

8) Death Masks - JIm Butcher - (Book 5 of the Dresden Series, Which I just finished late last night is a mystery dealing with the Shroud of Turin and other plot complications that I am not going into so I don't spoil anything a Very Good Read)

9) Promethean: The Created - Various (g) (this is the fourth of the Core Games books from White Wolf it deals with the Myth of Frankestein and expands it to the many cultures that have Legends of the Humans Creating life from Stone, Clay or even Dead Flesh. This game deals with something the other WOD books don't there can actually be an end to the game where the Promethean becomes human. I really like that fact. and is something that drew me to the rest of the Supplements which I only have one more to Read the "Pandora's Book" which is all about the antagonists for the game)

Mutants & Masterminds: Golden Age Christopher McGlothlin - This book deals with the golden age of comics where you could tell the difference between the good guys and the bad. It also give you a short history of the time period so you know what is going on, as well as roleplaying tips for dealing with the Taboos of the Era. All and All a good book.

Mutants & Masterminds: Instant Heroes Michael Hammes - A supplement dealing with already created templates and expanding them, so as a GM you could pick out a template make minor changes and add a name and instant NPC or as a player you have characters ready to go with just a bit of customizing.
